Mixed parts spec and weird paint job, but it looks legit The 6400 corresponds to the series designation of the shimano 600 ultegra components. Anyone have a rough guess as to value?
Nishiki did offer some uncataloged, high end racing models during this period, so perhaps this equivalent touring model The tech signifies a frame with bonded alumimum main tubes mated to crmo stays and forks Btw, is there a kawamura decal on the chainstays
Yes, i know they didn't have it in 1988 or 1991, but i didn't think of of checking 1987 on the premise that they might have skipped a year
Thxs for pointing that out. Miyata 1200 i think i just got what i think is an 88 miyata 1200 from my grandpa, and i have no idea of anything about it but would like to learn From what i could gather via a google search it seems that it was a top of the line touring race bike. The subject bicycle is definitely the 1988 model
It's got the 2nd generation syncro shift lever and the freewheel has been swapped for one with a larger range, so the shifting performance is anybody's guess I bought this exact model in 1988 as my first road bike This was when schwinn started to ship their bike off overseas, but the cool thing about this one ( if the same) was that this model was made in the chicago factory (look for the chicago plate on the headtube) Looking at the photos, this is pretty much stock down to the reflectors (compared to mine)
The only difference that jumps out.
I have a red bridgestone rb2 It is in excellent condition, always stored indoors and all original parts, but it has not been ridden in 25 years I would like to sell it Any guesses on a value
I world say $200 is a very fair price on a upper mid level japanese bike like the premis from the 80's fully serviced rtr with new consumables These make for very nice riders and were basically the the nicest of the mass produced schwinn's from the 80's As said $200 would be below market for one with nice paint in a medium or small size. Looks like a well maintained, ready to ride, raleigh technium
Only thing i'd point out is this is going have an old school shifting setup on the down tube
It may, or may not, be indexed and will be quite a bit different from the more modern style you're likely to get on a walmart special That would be the only. That was an fantastic bargain The gran designates it as the racing series
